" The 2019 Seoul Storytelling Team first walked

the course of the <2019 Long-standing Shop Guidebook>,

which is planned to be published later this year. "

[Course 2 : Guro-gu]

Hangdong Railway Road, located in Hang-dong, Guro-gu,

is a 4.5-kilometer-long railway from Oryu-dong to Bucheon Okgil-dong.

Hangdong Railroad Line starts from a residential area and

you need to walk along the railroad tracks until you get to the sculpture

“Hongdong Railroad of Contemplation and Empathy”.

It's too early to be upset that it's not a quiet and elegant train track.

Because, just as the residential area disappears, beautiful train tracks appear.

Hangdong Railway Station, full of the feeling of late autumn.

You can see the dreamlike sign that informs you that you can go to Haenam on the left and Gaesung on the right.

We look forward to the day when we travel freely north and south by train.

Like the nursery rhyme ‘Hut by the Train Tracks’, the train station is next to the Arboretum.

Spring and summer were full of greenery. The colorful autumn leaves make the short autumn stand out.

Of course, the winter here, covered with white snow, would be beautiful, too.

It is a pleasant railway where I can feel like I am filming a movie scene

where a loving couple walks on the railway, holding each other’s hands.

If the calm walk begins to feel a bit monotonous, you can visit the Green Arboretum next to the train tracks.

The Green Arboretum is the first municipal arboretum in Seoul,

an ecological island that is the center of educational programs and eco-friendly management.

In combination with the existing Hangdong Reservoir, you can enjoy 25,200 themed gardens and 2,100 different plants, including Green Trail, Hanultol, and Doltina.

Green Arboretum is an eco-friendly arboretum that uses no pesticides

and no chemical fertilizers, so there are no trash cans inside.

Opening hours are from 5:00 to 22:00, and there is no admission fee.

At the end of the Long-standing Shop walking tour is the Comet Beauty Salon,

which has been standing in Oryu-dong for over 40 years.

If you look at the exterior, you might think it's just a small neighborhood beauty salon,

but you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.

Even without a fancy exterior, patrons visit constantly.

When you open the door and go inside, you feel like you are traveling back to the 20th century.

Photos and wallpaper in faded photo frames, chairs for guests, etc.

It wouldn’t be awkward to say it is a museum of living history, but it is somewhat more friendly.

You can easily see the curling iron that is heated up with real fire,

which is very hard to find anywhere else now.

On the behalf of the busy hairdresser, costumers began their explanations and praises.

“It’s been open for more than 40 years, and the hairdresser’s skills and senses are great,

so even if I move far away, I will still only do my hair here”, etc.

Praises were heaped upon praises.

The uniqueness of Comet Beauty Salon is the service for waiting customers.

Warm Ondolmaru -meaning the floor heating system of Korea- and blankets are available,

so you can take a nap while you wait.
