A lens that gave birth to countless stewardesses
Mido Photo has a special lens that is called “Stewardess lens.”
This is a lens developed by the owner himself, Mr. Kang Il-woong, that changesround-shaped faces and long-shaped faces to oval-shaped ones for prettier results.
An accidental encounter through the special lens
One day, the owner met a stewardess while he was travelling.
It turns out that she had her photo taken at his studio, took the exam and was able to work as a stewardess.
From an aspiring photographer to a studio owner
Owner Kang Il-woong worked with cameras since he was in middle school. He continued to take photos, and after completing his military service he opened a photo studio and has run it with affection since.
His photos stained with time
The owner’s photos hang on the walls of his studio.
There are photos of the same location taken once in 1958 and again in 2013, showing the changes of time and boxing images that can no longer be seen today. These are photos filled with traces of time.
Time connected with love
Fifty years have passed since the opening of Mido Photo, and the time that connects those years was all made possible thanks to the owner’s love for photography.
